Go Ahead and Tell the NRSC What You Think!

I saw this at the top of my slashdot this morning:

Stop Obama’s Agenda
Tell NRSC what you think of the Demagenda in Senate. Take the survey.
www.nrsc.org/stopobama

So, click on the link above and go tell them! Answer all the questions as “Yes” except the last one! That last one should be a “No.” (Oddly enough, the default answer for all the questions is, “Yes.”)

Water Boil Order in Ames

From the City’s flood update page:

“A water main break under Squaw Creek drained all the water out of a water tower and dropped the distribution pressure to a dangerous level.  Due to the possibility of contamination, the Ames Water Plant has shut down the water supply to the distribution system community wide effective 2:30 p.m.

Any water accessible at your home or business should be considered potentially contaminated.  Any water used for consumption must be boiled.

Water pressure could be restored this evening or take as long as 24 hours.  The water boil order could continue longer.”

More Useful Flood Links

KCCI

Iowa Dept. of Transportation (although the maps here are only showing the closure on 30, so use the map from the previous post)

Ames Tribune

WHO-TV (stuff on their front page)

Notice I didn’t link to the local radio stations. They’re all useless, all playing network crap.

Also, the Ames Police and Fire radio traffic can be found here: RadioReference.com

UPDATE: KASI has posted this page.

Ames Flooding

Whoever says we don’t have climate change is full of it. Many, many roads closed, just like 1993. Highway 30 is closed in the Dayton Avenue area, East 13th is closed by River Valley Park, Lincoln Way and University is closed…Ames residents know the routine. The most useful source for local closings is here at the City of Ames website.
